Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe will chair a special discussion tomorrow to deliberate the draft of the 21st Amendment to the Constitution.
All party leaders representing Parliament are expected to attend the meeting scheduled to be held at the Prime Minister’s Office.
The draft of 21st Constitutional Amendment was presented to the Cabinet of Ministers on Monday.
Accordingly, it was decided that the draft should be given to all political parties in order to obtain their views and suggestions.
Minister of Justice Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe is tasked with obtaining views and suggestions regarding the amendment.
Following tomorrow’s discussions, the draft Amendment is expected to be presented to the Cabinet once again on Monday.
The draft of the 21st Amendment to the Constitution will then be presented to Parliament.
Meanwhile, the group of 10 independent parties in Parliament will engage in discussions with Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe at 5pm today.
