PM reviews progress of Economic Policy Ministry

Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa met with officials of the Ministry of Economic Policy and Planning this morning to review the progress of the Ministry.

The Premier issued directives to overcome the shortage of assessing officers to implement the government’s development initiatives.

The Prime Minister also drew attention to the population and housing census conducted by the Department of Census and Statistics.

The digitised census consists of three stages.

The Director General of the Department of Census and Statistics said the first phase of the project has been successfully completed.
