The Rata Rakina Jana Handa organisation says there is a 200 percent public dissatisfaction in the present administration.
Speaking during a media briefing yesterday, Chairman of the organisation Ven. Muruththettuwe Ananda thera said Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa, who has a lot of experience in understanding the current crisis, must take over leadership of the country.
The Venerable said they were under the impression that the government will save the country and move forward adding they believe the Rajapaksa regime will end if the current situation prevails.
Ananda thera said the public blames the clergy for the prevailing crisis adding they acknowledge their flaws.
The thera called on Prime Minister Rajapaksa to take over the reins prior to an election, if he wants the Rajapaksa regime to prevail, without provoking the Pancha Maha Balavegaya.
The thera said President Gotabaya Rajapaksa will agree to the decision adding if not it would further harm the country.
When questioned by media as to whether President Rajapaksa is incapable of governing the country, Ananda thera said it is already evident adding the President must hand over the position to someone with experience.
The Venerable said more people will take to the streets once COVID-restrictions are further relaxed.
The thera said the level of public dissatisfaction will be evident if Provincial Council Elections are held due to India’s influence.
