The Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna has clarified that Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa has not requested the Speaker of House an opportunity to make a special statement in Parliament tomorrow (4).
A senior SLPP spokesman made this statement when inquired by NewsRadio over reports that the Prime Minister is due to resign from his post after making a special statement in Parliament.
Meanwhile, the SLPP has proposed Parliamentarian Dilan Perera to the post of Deputy Speaker of Parliament.
However, the SLPP spokesman said MP Perera has turned down the proposition.
