Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe says he is not satisfied with the pace at which the investigations pertaining to the attacks on protesters at Galle Face green are being carried out, at present.

Speaking in Parliament today, Prime Minister Wickremesinghe said he spoke to the Inspector General of Police CD Wickramaratne over the matter.

The Premier said he suggested the IGP produce regular updates to the Speaker of House.

Prime Minister Wickremesinghe added that he has condemned the attacks and has reiterated the importance of taking legal action against all perpetrators.

On a separate note, Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe said the current political system and infighting within Parliament should be brought to a halt.

Premier Ranil Wickremesinghe also stressed the need to appoint a national council to find answers to the current issues.
