The petition filed by Parliamentarian Patali Champika Ranawaka challenging the findings of the Presidential Commission of Inquiry into Political Victimization is due to be taken up before the Court of Appeal today at 1pm.
The present administration appointed the Commission headed by former Supreme Court Justice Upali Abeyratne and two other members to look into alleged political victimization during the tenure of the good governance government.
The report was released last year. Another Presidential Commission headed by Supreme Court Justice Priyantha Jayewardene was set up to look into the suitability of implementing findings of the report.
Petitioner MP Ranawaka, requested that the findings of the PCOI chaired by Upali Abeyratne be annulled by a writ order.
It was further requested that an order be issued prohibiting any action that violates the rights of the petitioner by enforcing the findings of the relevant Commission.
