Leader of the Opposition Sajith Premadasa says people have lost their right to life while a large number of citizens are leaving the country.
MP Premadasa said intelligent youth are leaving the country adding that Sri Lanka is facing a tragedy of brain drain.
Speaking during a discussion today, MP Premadasa said the country cannot be rebuilt unless a national development programme and a roadmap is implemented in a timely manner.
He noted that according to date received the Department of Immigration and Emigration has received 50,000 applications daily for passports, terming this development a tragedy.
MP Premadasa said in order to change this course they require a new stable government that can provide short, medium, and long term solutions.
He also called on the government to refrain from deceiving the public and to reveal the reality of the country’s situation.
