Archbishop Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith says the recommendations of the report by the Presidential Commission of Inquiry that probed the 2019 Easter Sunday attacks cannot be enforced under the present administration.
Speaking at a service held at the St. Anthony’s Shrine in Kochchikade today to mark 30 months since the 2019 bombings, the Cardinal said many have concerns that those responsible for the attacks will not be brought to light.
The Cardinal added on the 8th of March this year the Attorney General at the time said, the attacks indicate an organised nature, and that seven to eight terrorists alone could not have carried out the bombings.
He claimed according to the Attorney General a lengthy plan was likely behind the attack as it was well thought out.
The Cardinal noted that according to what they have learned, senior security officers are attempting to cover-up investigations.
The Archbishop questioned what the ‘One Country, One Law’ policy promises when the law is being enforced differently to allies and others.
