A Presidential Commission of Inquiry has been appointed by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa to look into incidents of assaults, looting, murders, property being torched, and other incidents of violence between the 21st of March and the 15th of May 2022.
The President’s Media Division said the Commission will be chaired by President’s Counsel BP Aluvihare and will include former Senior DIG SM Wickramasinghe, Additional Chief Surveyor NAS Wasantha Kumara.
Additional Secretary to the President Buwaneka Herath will act as the Secretary of the Commission.
The letters of appointment were handed over at the President’s House this evening by the President.
