Parliamentarian Patali Champika Ranawaka has directed a letter to the Chairman of the Committee on Public Enterprise requesting to expand the scope of COPE’s investigations to identify those responsible for the systematic disruption of the gas supply since October last year at the time when the country had the financial capability to obtain gas supplies before the suspension of debt defaulting.
The MP also requested the Auditor General or another authority to conduct a formal investigation into the process taken to suspend long-term procurements.
The letter also states that since 2014 facts have been uncovered of large-scale financial fraud in the process of importing gas
