Opposition Parliamentarian Patali Champika Ranawaka has called for progress evaluations of state institutions and not only audits.
The MP said recommendations of the Committee on Public Enterprise should be given directly to the relevant institutions based on the evaluation of the progress.
The MP speaking during the COPE meeting said he proposed a progress evaluation report six weeks ago.
He said chairmen of state institutions make promises while at the meeting yet fail to enact any decisions reached.
MP Ranawaka said COPE doesn’t convene on personal vendettas, adding that the purpose of the meeting is not to gain points by uncovering corruption for political benefits.
He noted that all chairmen should be appraised in order to ensure they don’t work arbitrarily.
