Issuance of passports at the Department of Immigration and Emigration under normal and one-day services will resume this morning.
The Controller General of the Department said it is compulsory to make an appointment to obtain these services.
The public has been requested to use the website http://www.immigration.gov.lk/ or contact number 0707 101 060 to book an appointment.
The Department noted the phone line will be open from 8.30am to 3.00pm on public working days.
The public has been urged to book an appointment to avoid inconveniences, since only approximately 2,000 passports are issued daily.
The Department of Immigration and Emigration has also rejected claims that it has decided to increase charges to issue passports.
