A few members of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna requested the Speaker to formulate a programme so that students who will sit the upcoming GCE Ordinary Level Examination will not be affected by shortages in electricity and transportation methods.

Speaking in parliament today Minister Dullas Alahapperuma said children are undecided on facing the exam as their basic needs have not been met. In the absence of a Transport Minister, MP Alahapperuma called on the speaker to provide leadership to solving transportation issues.

MP Bandula Gunawardena said the main concern for students is public transport for students which must be solved immediately.
