Parliamentarian Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka requests the present administration to take the country back to the place it took over without fulfilling any of the pledges included in the government’s manifesto and hand it over to them.

Speaking during an event in Matata, MP Fonseka said then the public will be able to purchase a kilogram of rice for Rs. 60, the price of a domestic gas cylinder will come down by Rs. 1,000 and there won’t be any queues to purchase essential items.

He said at present there are several issues in the country and the public is struggling to survive due to the cost of living.

The Parliamentarian said there are shortages of goods adding power cuts being imposed due to lack of fuel among others.

He said the country is in disarray and being destroyed to a point that there will be no return.

MP Sarath Fonseka said now those in the government have claimed that they will fulfil the promises, in the next three years.

He said however the present government should not fulfil any promises and instead take the country back to the place it took over.

The MP claimed that his faction will be able to rebuild the country despite the current hardship.

MP Fonseka also said the general public has been blaming the entire Parliament.

He said the public is blaming the entire Parliament due to the actions of a few.

Parliamentarian Sarath Fonseka said in order to change the fortunes of the country, the current political culture should be changed.
