Leader of the Opposition Sajith Premadasa says the government instead of completing educational requirements of children, is spending funds on futile projects such as walkways.
MP Premadasa speaking at an event in Thanamalwila yesterday said only 10% of children were able to engage in virtual studies during the coronavirus pandemic.
MP Premadasa added many areas lack signal.
He charged that the government failed to successfully enforce smart classes and of instead spending billions on the beautification of 100 towns.
MP Premadasa also claimed that the Samagi Jana Balawegaya is engaged in many development efforts, apart from traditional opposition activities.
He claimed criticism levelled against other political parties are irrelevant to the SJB.
MP Premadasa said the SJB is different to other political parties.
He said the SJB also successfully donated equipment to hospitals during the coronavirus pandemic unlike any other political party.
