Leader of the Opposition Sajith Premadasa has requested foreign countries to lift travel warnings issued for tourists from visiting Sri Lanka.

The Opposition Leader expressed these views during a discussion with officials engaged in the tourism industry.

Issues faced within the tourism industry were discussed at length.

The Deputy Head of the European Union delegation to Sri Lanka and the Head of the EU Political Trade and Communications Division were also present at the discussion.

MP Premadasa called on them to extend the loan concessions that were provided to rebuild the tourism industry following the 2019 Easter Sunday attacks and to promote tourism.

MP Premadasa also requested the international community to provide foreign assistance and to strengthen the promotion of the tourism industry.
