Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa has held talks with former President and current Speaker of the Maldivian Parliament, Mohammed Nasheed.
The two held bilateral discussions at the Opposition leader’s office.
Many important topics concerning Sri Lanka’s present situation were discussed between the two leaders.
Talks also focused on continuing the long-term relationship between the two countries.
The Opposition leader also thanked the Maldivian Speaker for the country’s continued assistance in helping Sri Lanka deal with the present economic crisis.
The Opposition Leader also met with the United Nations Resident Coordinator to Sri Lanka Hanaa Singer-Hamdy.
Extensive talks between them focused on strategies to be developed and identifying methods to secure financial assistance so that Sri Lanka can come out of the economic recession.
Speaker of the Maldivian Parliament, Mohammed Nasheed also met Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa for talks today.
Taking to twitter the MP said they held discussion on a number of issues concerning Sri Lanka’s present context.
