Leader of the Opposition Sajith Premadasa says the government must provide solutions to all sectors battered by the coronavirus pandemic, as soon as possible.
He called on public representatives to find solutions to the prevalent issues through the theory of social contracts.
Speaking at an event organized by Civil Society Organizations, MP Premadasa said Sri Lanka is facing many issues in areas or religion, culture, education and healthcare.
He said a majority of the public are hoping for sustainable solutions to issues, and not temporary fixes.
MP Premadasa explained that a social contract is the hope assured to the people through a manifesto presented by the State.
In return the Parliamentarian commented that people will be approving of the governments decisions.
The Opposition Leader spoke on the need to create a common programme for development in Sri Lanka.
He said the programme also requires trust, discipline and a need to go through continuous modernization and amendment.
MP Premadasa said a transformational approach was required so that the country’s problems could be solved more quickly.
