The Department of Immigration and Emigration informs that the issuance of passports under the one-day service will commence in three additional districts from today.
Accordingly, the one-day service will get underway in the regional offices of the Vavuniya, Matara, and Kandy districts.
Currently, the one-day service is only available at the head office of the Immigration and Emigration Department in Colombo.
Under the first phase, the Department of Immigration and Emigration said the service will be provided only to 100 applicants who have previously booked a time and date at the regional office.
Appointments can be obtained by visiting the official website of the Department of Immigration and Emigration in order to submit applications.
The Department said the Matara, Vavuniya, and Kandy regional offices have also begun accepting applications under the normal service.
Therefore, applicants who have not made prior appointments have been urged not to visit the offices to obtain services.
Dates and times for the next 60-day period for the submission of applications to obtain passports under the one-day service from the head office of the Immigration and Emigration Department have been finalised.
Therefore, the applicants who wish to travel overseas for employment are encouraged to direct a WhatsApp message via 0706 311 711 to book a date and time.
The Controller General said the dates and times will be provided promptly after confirming the accuracy of the relevant documents.
