The National People’s Power has received an invite to attend the all party conference scheduled to be held on Wednesday.
Parliamentarian Dr. Harini Amarasuriya when contacted by NewsRadio said the party is yet to reach a decision pertaining to attending the conference.
The MP also claimed that the meeting has been called as a response to divisions within the government.
The Parliamentarian said the NPP is of the view that the conference is not organised to provide solutions to the issues of the public and is instead a political attempt to heal internal divides in Parliament.
MP Amarasuriya added the conference was a suggestion of former President Maithripala Sirisena and the Sri Lanka Freedom Party.
The Parliamentarian stated if the government is genuinely interested in solving the issues of the people, an official statement would have been released including data regarding the prevailing crisis.
She said the National People’s Power will release a statement regarding the party stance on attending the conference.
