The National People’s Power has lodged a written complaint with the Inspector General of Police regarding an attack during its Gampaha District Convention in Kalagedihena last Sunday.
The complaint states that an organized gang of thugs attacked the convention and tried to sabotage the meeting.
The NPP complaint states that the two suspects are currently in custody and based on information revealed by them, it is evident that they attempted to sabotage the meeting over vested political interests.
According to the complaint lodged with the IGP, the NPP said the attack was carried out with the knowledge and the support of an individual who operates a public security firm and also a Cabinet Minister according to revelations of the two arrested persons.
