The National People’s Power says the party will support the progressive elements of the proposed 21st Amendment of the Constitution.
Speaking to NewsRadio, NPP Parliamentarian Harini Amarasuriya said they have received the draft proposed by Minister of Justice Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe and studying the articles.
MP Amarasuriya said her party is of the stance, Executive Presidency should be abolished and that any amendments should at least take the governing structure of the country to where it was after the enactment of the 19th Amendment to the Constitution.
MP Harini Amarasuriya stressed that they will support all democratic and progressive changes.
She said the NPP will study the proposed draft further and will take necessary decisions.
