The National Peoples Power claims the only solution to the current crisis is to call for an election immediately.

Speaking during a public gathering in Kadawatha, NPP Leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake said the country cannot progress since the general public has lost faith in the present administration.

He claimed there is a huge disconnect between the people and the government, at present.

MP Dissanayake noted that all sectors have collapsed in the country.

He said Sri Lanka’s market share in international trade is mere 0.05 percent.

MP Anura Kumara Dissanayake said however, Sri Lanka’s debt is a staggering USD 50 Billion.

He noted that the country is not generating any income to repay loans or to carry-out infrastructure development projects.

The NPP Leader said a decision has also been taken to stall all development projects by the government.

He said since the government in not making any progress, an election must be called at the earliest.
