The National People’s Power claims that the President is planning on calling a General Election when the current Parliament completes two and a half years.
Speaking to media in Kandy former Provincial Councillor KD Lalkantha said the NPP is prepared to claim governing power through a General Election.
He claimed the present government has been unable to bring down fuel on time, the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation was unable to provide fuel for the Ceylon Electricity Board, two generators at the Kelanitissa Power Plant are not operational and power cuts are being imposed across the country.
He added ships are docked at the port till funds are released, gas leak explosions are being reported, rice is being imported from China and fertiliser wasn’t provided due to the lack of foreign reserves.
Lalkantha also said the government is deceiving the people through claims that fertiliser wasn’t provided as it is harmful to health.
He added however the NPP will not have to wait three and a half years to claim governing power, as the President is preparing to call a Parliamentary Election shortly.
