The Lanka Private Bus Owners’ Association says it will make a written request to the Chairman of the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation to introduce a mechanism to provide necessary diesel to long-distance buses.
Speaking to NewsRadio, President of the Association Gemunu Wijeratne said although diesel stocks are being released to buses operating in Colombo and within urban areas, long-distance bus operators are not receiving necessary fuel.
Wijeratne noted that short-distance buses are being given fuel through Sri Lanka Transport Board-owned depots.
He said however this is a temporary issue which will go on for few months.
Gemunu Wijeratne said the government must find permanent solutions to such issues.
