Speaking to media after the meeting, State Minister Lasantha Alagiyawanna said they are taking all possible steps to reduce the prices of essential commodities.
He said measures are taken while considering the prevailing climate in the country.
Minister Rohitha Abeygunawardena meanwhile assured that there will not be a food crisis. He also said necessary measures will be taken to resolve the issues faced by the public.
Minister Sarath Weerasekera accused the media of only broadcasting negative aspects of the government.
He said the government is carrying out several development projects but the media has not given air time for such initiatives.
Minister Weerasekera claimed that the government is not divided despite some Ministers expressing their frustrations about certain decisions.
Minister Vasudeva Nanayakkara meanwhile said although the President did not provide a meeting for 11 constituent parties to discuss certain concerns, they are hoping to meet the Prime Minister in the near future.
