Minister of Power Gamini Lokuge says there is no plan to increase electricity tariffs at present.
Speaking during a media briefing today, Minister Lokuge said as the subject Minister he informed the President and the Ceylon Electricity Board that he hopes to move forward without increasing tariffs.
The Minister said they can reduce electricity charges to a certain extent if they are able to obtain 1,000MW of renewable energy within the year.
