Parliamentarian Patali Champika Ranawaka says no invitation has been extended thus far related to the formation of an all-party government.
Speaking to media in Colombo, MP Ranawaka said although the President directed a letter, there was no mention of the formation of an all-party government.
MP Ranawaka noted the President’s letter was regarding constitutional amendments.
MP Ranawaka said the President should present a plan to rebuild the countries economy and gain the confidence of the people instead of arresting youth activists under the State of Emergency.
He noted while the President may have won the confidence of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna, gaining the confidence of the public is important for governance adding the people have lost confidence in the SLPP.
MP Ranawaka said while politicians and officials directly responsible for the economic crisis were swept under the rug, youth activists were being targeted by the government.
