NCPA receive 4,700 child abuse complaints

The National Child Protection Authority says it has received 4,700 complaints pertaining to child abuse within the first six months of 2021.

The National Child Protection Authority says it has received 4,700 complaints pertaining to child abuse within the first six months of 2021.

73 complaints of the lot are relating to child labourers.

The National Child Protection Authority have already begun investigations relating to the claims.

Meanwhile a request has been made by the Authority to appoint a suitable individual as the Head of the Police unit within the institution, citing that the officer in the post has retired.
