Authorities say the stock of heroin seized this morning in Southern seas by the Sri Lanka Navy weighs approximately 336.3kg.
Accordingly, the estimated street value of the consignment is Rs.3.1 billion.
Speaking to NewsRadio, Navy Media Spokesperson Captain Indika De Silva said seven foreign nationals were arrested by the Navy in Southern seas during an operation conducted this morning.
The Sri Lanka Navy said initial investigations revealed the stock of heroin weighed at 300kg.
The seven suspects were brought to Colombo and handed over to the Police Narcotics Bureau.
The Navy Media Spokesperson said the operation was conducted based on a tip off, as a joint operation by the Sri Lanka Police and Navy intelligence officers.
