The National Fuel Pass will be introduced today.
Minister of Power and Energy Kanchana Wijesekera explained that the fuel pass will enable each vehicle to purchase a guaranteed quota of fuel per week.
Accordingly, only one vehicle can be registered under one national identity card.
The Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekera taking to twitter said that a QR code will be issued to each vehicle after registering and verifying the chassis number and other information.
The Minister noted that public can obtain fuel twice a week according to the last number of the vehicle number plate, using the relevant QR code.
