The Committee on Parliamentary Business has decided to provide additional time for Members of Parliament to debate on the 2022 Budget.
Accordingly, it has been decided to limit the time allowed for questions under Standing Order 27 (2) to a maximum of 10 minutes during the budget period.
Minister of Finance Basil Rajapaksa will deliver the 2022 budget on Friday.
The budget debate will take place until the 10th of December.
The Committee on Parliamentary Business during its latest meeting had discuss several matters pertaining to the 2022 budget, including the security of Parliament.
Meanwhile, the budget debate will be continued until 5.30pm if an adjournment debate is not scheduled on a particular day.
