Parliamentarian Wimal Weerawansa was served indictments today at the Colombo High Court.
Indictments were served over a case filed by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption over earnings and assets amounting to Rs.75 million during his term under the United People’s Freedom Alliance government between 2010-2015 that cannot be accounted for.
The indictments were served by the Attorney Generals Department when the case was taken up for consideration before Colombo High Court Judge Navaratne Marasinghe this morning (17).
During the hearing MP Weerawansa reiterated that he is not guilty.
Accordingly, the case was postponed to the 28th of June.
