Parliamentarian Kumara Welgama has been released from a case filed against him by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption, over discrepancies during his tenure as Transport Minister.
The verdict was issued by Colombo Magistrate Nandana Amarasinghe.
The MP has been accused of creating a false designation within the Sri Lanka Transport Board and transferring a salary payment to that bank account.
The release was approved based on an understanding that the Bribery Commission will file charges once again.
