Court today ordered the two children who were reported missing in Banduragoda, Kotadeniyawa and then found in Mirigama after 44 days to be detained at the Makola Orphanage until 07th of March.
The order was issued by Minuwangoda Chief Magistrate Kesara CA Samaradiwakara today.
The two boys aged 10 and 12 years who were reported missing for 44 days were handed over to the Mirigama Police by a woman on 6th January.
Police said the duo had been found from a canteen in Mirigama.
The two children were admitted to the District General Hospital of Negombo for a medical examination after which they were taken into custody by the Kotadeniyawa Police.
The duo was then produced before court.
It was revealed in Court the children had confessed to the Police that they had fled the house due to threats.
The Kotadeniyawa Police informed court that they will seek the advice of the Attorney General pertaining to the actions to be taken against those involved in the incident.
The Court then ordered for a full report on the two children to be submitted on 07th of March, stating future action on the two children would be decided on accordingly.
The Kotadeniyawa Police received a complaint on the 23rd December over the disappearance of the two boys.
