Several Ministers have stated that they will consider the proposals in the concept paper submitted to the President by the Presidential Task Force on One Country-One Law and extend their support to achieve the relevant objectives.
The Presidential Task Force met with Minister of Justice Ali Sabry, Foreign Minister Prof. GL Peiris, and Minister of Public Security Rt. Rear Admiral Sarath Weerasekera and discussed past and future activities of the Task Force.
The Justice Minister briefed the Task Force on the digitisation programme of the judicial sector, and new ordinances introduced by the Ministry to expedite the process of ensuring justice in the country.
At a meeting held at the Foreign Ministry, Minister Peiris commented on the government’s foreign policy and the forthcoming international conferences on behalf of the government.
He said proposals put forward by the Presidential Task Force on One Country-One Law will be important for Sri Lanka’s international relations.
Minister Weerasekera meanwhile highlighted that terrorism has been defeated and Sri Lanka has been united as one nation, while the importance of suppressing such incidents in future, if any, was also discussed at the meeting.
