The venerable expressed hope that all challenges and obstacles will be diminished, while hope for peace and prosperity will take precedence.

Meanwhile, the Anunayake thera of the Asgiri Chapter Ven. Anamaduwe Dhammadassi thera says as the New Year is being dawned protests are being staged across the island.
The venerable said when unrest, crises, and protests break out whether it relates to religion, culture, politics, or economics, the Maha Sangha issues advice.
Ven. Dhammadassi thera said the Chief Prelates issued a joint warning to Members of Parliament in general highlighting the importance of ensuring peace and unity and the need to unite in addressing the present crisis in a manner that is satisfactory and acceptable to all citizens.
The venerable added the crisis does not signal anything positive.
