Minister of Mass Media Dullas Alahapperuma says media personnel and artists have a higher reach than politicians, in building national unity.
Speaking at a function in Jaffna, he called on all communities to work towards understanding and respecting each other.
The Minister said criticism, protests and differences in opinion were all healthy signs of a democracy.
