Minister of Agriculture Mahindananda Aluthgamage claims the country’s economy will not collapse in the year 2022.
Speaking during the Committee Stage Debate in Parliament, Minister Aluthgamage also said there will not be a food shortage in the country next year.
The Minister assured that they will manage all aspects of the economy in the year 2022 and take forward the country.
He said the opposition is making baseless allegations while ruining the country while in power for five years.
Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage added that they received a country with economic growth of just 2.3 percent despite handing over a flourishing economy to the previous administration.
The Minister also claimed foreign reserves were at US$ 7.7 billion when the previous administration took over the government while it also obtained loans amounting to US$ 6 billion.
Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage said despite obtaining a massive amount of loans, the previous administration failed to deliver any meaningful projects to the country.
