Speaker of Parliament Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena has certified the Mahapola Higher Education Scholarship Trust Fund (Amendment) Bill.
The Bill was taken up for debate in Parliament on the 8th of February and was passed with amendments.
Accordingly several amendments will be made including the extension of the name of the Mahapola Higher Education Scholarship Trust Fund Act No. 66 of 1981 to Lalith Athulathmudali Mahapola Higher Education Scholarship Trust Fund Act.
Accordingly, the Mahapola Higher Education Scholarship Trust Fund (Amendment) Act No. 1 of 2022 will come into effect from yesterday.
