A ship containing 3,700 MT of LP Gas is scheduled to arrive in the island this afternoon, putting an end to the shortage of the commodity in Sri Lanka.
A second ship carrying 3,740 MT of gas will arrive tomorrow.
President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa has instructed officers to carry out the unloading and distribution of gas promptly, when the first ship arrives at the Kerewalapitiya terminal at 3 pm today.
The third gas consignment of 3,200 MT will arrive in Sri Lanka on the 15th of July, putting the total quantity of gas ordered for this month to 33,000 MT.
Chairman of Litro Gas Lanka Muditha Peiris said island wide gas distribution will be restored to normalcy by 12th of July and will continue under a systematic distribution method.
He added that any problems regarding the demand for domestic gas will be completely eradicated by the end of this month.
