The National Association for the Preservation of Litro Gas alleges that the main reason behind the collapse of Litro Gas Lanka is the short-sighted management of the company over the past two years.
Speaking at a media briefing this afternoon, Litro Gas Company Advertising Manager Piyal Colombahettige called on the President to appoint a suitable individual to lead the corporation.
He noted various industries including tourism, textile, and healthcare were severely affected due to the unavailability of LP gas.
Colombahettige noted, restaurants around the country face difficulties in carrying out operations while individuals residing in apartments have been inconvenienced due to a lack of an alternative method for cooking.
Piyal Colombahettige said Litro Gas Lanka was a principle lifeline of the country and called for the appointment of a suitable leader to the organisation.
Colombahettige requested the government to refrain from politicising the organisation adding the public is unable to prepare meals due to the prevalent shortage of gas.
He claimed there was no fault in the system of the organisation while requesting that the President appoint a suitable leader.
