The All Island Three-Wheeler Owners Association charges that the Lanka Indian Oil Corporation has severely burdened operators by raising fuel prices.
Media and Propaganda Secretary Kapila Galapitage speaking to media in Kandy questioned as to who determines oil prices in the country and if India makes decisions in the country.
He said the 950,000 three-wheeler drivers are gravely affected by such decisions.
Galapitage said a people’s struggle has commenced and the public has joined hands regardless of party affiliations and are demanding the President to stand.
However, he charged that amidst such efforts Lanka IOC increased prices for the third consecutive time within two months as a gift to an already struggling industry.
