Police Media Spokesman SSP Nihal Talduwa says legal action will be taken against groups that organised a protest march in Colombo yesterday.
The Police Media Spokesman said legal action will be taken on charges of violating health regulations and gatherings large crowds.
He claimed the crowds were in violation of the Gazette Notification and health regulations recently issued by the Director-General of Health Services.
SSP Talduwa said the Police set up roadblocks across the country to prevent large crowds from participating.
He said there were verbal exchanges at roadblocks between Police and individuals who attempted to reach Colombo.
