The Sri Lankan delegation including Minister of Finance Ali Sabry and the Governor of the Central Bank or Sri Lanka Dr. Nandalal Weerasinghe left the island today for Washington for talks with the International Monetary Fund.
The delegation includes four individuals, including an assistant to the Finance Minister and an assistant to the Central Bank Governor.
The group departed the Bandaranaike International Airport around 5.07 this morning on a flight bound for Washington via Doha, Qatar.
Another group including Secretary to the Finance Ministry KMM Siriwardana will join the delegation in the days ahead.
Talks with the IMF will commence on the 19th and continue till the 24th of this month.
