The National Building Research Organization says the landslide warnings issued to six districts that are experiencing inclement weather will continue to be in place.
Speaking to media, the Deputy Director and Media Spokesman of the Disaster Management Center, Pradeep Kodippili said Landslide warnings have been issued to several areas in the Kalutara, Kandy, Kegalle, Matara Nuwara Eliya and Ratnapura Districts.
Kodippili said many districts reported inclement weather around the country yesterday.
He revealed that some areas in the Central, Western, Southern and Sabaragamuwa Provinces experienced torrential rains above 100mm.
He reiterated that the landslide warnings issued to six districts by the NBRO will continue to be in place.
Therefore he urged area residents to remain vigilant of their surroundings.
