Minister of Labour Nimal Siripala de Silva says steps will be taken to provide a compassionate allowance to the family of Priyantha Kumara who was brutally murdered in Pakistan.
The Minister instructed the State Ministry of Foreign Employment Promotion and the Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment to prepare a welfare programme for the future of the dependents of the family and to provide maximum concessions.
Minister de Silva said steps will be taken at diplomatic level to take further action regarding the killing of Priyantha Kumara.
Priyantha Kumara, who worked as a manager at a private factory in Sialkot, Pakistan was tortured to death on Friday by a mob, and his body was set on fire.
The incident has drawn widespread condemnation.
