The Esala Perahera of the Temple of the Tooth Relic in Kandy will parade the streets from the 2nd to the 11th of August.
Speaking at a media briefing in Kandy, Diyawadana Nilame Pradeep Nilanga Dela Bandara said the Kap planting ceremony will take place on the 29th of July.
The Kap planting ceremony will take place at 3.03am on the 29th of July with the participation of representatives of four dewalayas.
The first ‘Kumbal Perahera’ of this year’s Kandy Esala festival will parade the streets on the 2nd of August and will continue for five days till the 6th of August.
The ‘Randoli Perahera’ will parade the streets of Kandy from the 7th of August.
The Grand Randoli procession will be held on the 11th of August.
The Kandy Esala Perahera festival will conclude with the water cutting ceremony and the day procession.
