Minister of Power and Energy Kanchana Wijesekera has met with the Minister of State for Energy Affairs in Qatar.
The Minister held discussions with Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi, the Minister of State for Energy Affairs and the President and CEO of Qatar Energy.
The two parties discussed the supply of petroleum products, LPG, and LNG to Sri Lanka to overcome the energy crisis with the assistance of Qatar Energy and the Qatar Development Fund.
Minister Wijesekera and Minister of Environment Ahamed Nazeer left the island for Qatar to hold talks over the importation of fuel.
Meanwhile, Minister Susil Premajayantha has left for France via Dubai.
Minister Premajayantha, former Sri Lankan Ambassador to Russia Saman Weerasinghe and several officials are scheduled to leave for Moscow, Russia on Sunday to hold talks to solve Sri Lanka’s energy crisis.
