The Samagi Jana Balawegaya says a number of issues have arisen in all sectors including the transport sector, due to the unjust decision reached by the government to increase the prices of fuel.
Speaking during a media briefing in Colombo today, Parliamentarian Ashok Abeysinghe said the inefficient financial management of the present administration caused all current crises.
SJB MP Ashoka Abeysinghe said people will be burdened in all sectors of the economy since the government increased fuel prices by a large margin.
He blamed the government’s weak fiscal management as the main reason for soaring inflation.
The MP commented that the resultant increase in transport fares will wreak havoc on the people. He predicted another increase in fuel prices in the coming months, including prices of imported goods and essential food items.
The MP criticised the governments explanation to decrease demand for fuel, questioning the rationale behind it.
On a separate note, MP Abeysinghe said that Sajith Premadasa is the only alternative leader in Sri Lanka adding even the international heads of states have accepted that the alternative government is the Samagi Jana Balawegaya.
He commented that Sri Lanka has moved down on international credit ratings, but added that the international community still trusts the SJB.
